If you have an SD Card with an older version of XYO Bridge software, here is a guide to update your SD Card to the current BridgeX Version. You should find that using etcher is a speedy, cross platform process. You will also need to format the card using the ExFAT standard before flashing the newest image.
Getting Started
Click here to download the current version of the BridgeX
For a video walkthrough, check out the video below
Download the BridgeX Software
Click here to download the current version of the BridgeX
After downloading
- Double click on the zipped file to expand it
- You should now see the img file appear in the same folder where the img.tar.gz file appeared
- Use the img file using Etcher
Format the SD Card (MacOS)
- Open your Mac's disk utility and navigate to 16gb disk NORELSYS 1081
- Click Erase
- Select ExFAT as your format for the new partition
- Check for successful erase
Flash the software using Etcher
(MacOS, Linux, or Windows)
The easiest way to flash our new Bridge image to your current SDCard is by using etcher
- First we download etcher here
- You will notice the download button searching for your OS
- When it discovers it you should see the Download button display your OS, below an example on MacOS
- Once download is complete move the Etcher into your Applications
- Now, open the application (through your respective search OS function)
Here is a MacOS example of the screen you should see when you open up the application
Now we can click select image - this will direct you to your respective file explorer where you can find your Bridge X image
Once you find it click on it and then click `open`
You can now click on the drive that you just formatted
- Now we can click Select drive - this will direct you to your respective file explorer where you can find the drive that you formatted
- Once you find it click on it and then click open
NOTE If you did successfully format that SD Card, etcher may automatically set the drive without you having to find it
Your screen should look something like this before you flash the SD Card (MacOS example)
Now we can click Flash!
You will be prompted to enter your device password
Once you do, the screen will change to indicate that the SD Card is currently flashing
Depending on the current image, this may take from 10 - 18 minutes
After Etcher completes the flashing process, it will go into validating the flash
Install the SD Card
Once that is completed, you can eject the SDCard and install it in your BridgeX
To insert your SD Card, be sure to insert into the BridgeX SD Card slot
Insert with the non-labeled side face up
You should see the label facing the bottom of the bridge before inserting it completely
Once you insert the card completely, you should only see a small part of the label sticking out.
