    My XY4 devices are making a ton of noise, every 20-30 minutes. Is this normal?

    Hi Robyn,

    That can sometimes happen when the batteries in the finders get knocked loose! Usually all you need to do is remove the battery, firmly replace it inside the finder (with the engraved writing facing up) and then snap it closed.

    Still trying to set up my first XY4 finder but when I get to the last step and tap SAVE, it comes back with "failed to unlock finder"

    Hi Michael,

    Your Android phone's Bluetooth system has exceeded its capacity. Usually just restarting your phone will clear the problem, but if the issue persists, check to make sure another Bluetooth device isn't interfering with your connection and email support at support@xyfindit.com.

    The app wil not open. I have a xy 4 +, i have download the app on the iPhone , i only see 3 gray squares in the left top corner en 1 green that you can move about. On the bottom the Numbers (x:138, Y : 278)

    Hi there! I tried downloading the iOS app to activate my 4+ but the app won’t allow me to login via Facebook or manually, saying that the app is still being developed. Is there any way to fix this “join” error so I can get my 4+ set up? Thanks! -Ally

    Hi Ally! I've created a ticket for your request so our support team can give you a hand. If you have an issue with Facebook, you should still be able to join with a normal email address. You don't need to use the Facebook button - just enter your favorite email address to proceed. Sorry about the mix-up, we're aware of the problem and working on getting it fixed!

    Hi Dennis! You can register your wife's phone to your account if you like to help you keep track of it, but if your wife would like to use XY Find It with the same XY Finders you're using, you'll need to have her sign into the same account. Please be aware that XY Finders can only connect with one mobile device at a time, so please only use them with one phone at a time.     One of my XY4+ findables won't sync. I keep getting the message that it failed to unlock finder.

    Hi Heather,

    You'll want to do two things. First, please restart your phone before making another attempt. Second, when you register the finder you're having difficulty with, wait a minute (literally about 60 seconds) after it's detected to save it. (So after you add the name and photo, just wait one minute, then save.)

    When I tap on FIND IT my phone states "out of range" even though I'm within ten feet of it. I assume I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what.

    Hi Susan! A few things could be causing that but you're definitely well within range. Please make sure there's no metal plating, heavy wiring, or concrete between you and the finder. Also please make sure to have Bluetooth services on in your phone's settings, and that you're only using your XY Finder with one phone or tablet at a time. Take a second to restart Bluetooth services, too, especially if you're using an Android phone.

    I can easily find my keys using the phone app, but I cannot get the phone to ring using the XY finder. I have bluetooth and location services on. Thank you.

    XY4+ is a BLE-enabled device which can sync with a GPS-enabled device to help you locate where it was last detected.

    Sorry to hear you're having some difficulty! It's probably a simple troubleshooting issue. Most importantly, make sure the XY Find It app is fully up to date on your phone, and that it's running in the background of your phone's system.

    Hi Bret. I've created a ticket for your inquiry – the ticking is a minor battery issue we can assist you with. The other problems will either be resolvable with a little support or could be issues with some of our beta software. We'll help you figure out which and if you've found a bug, we'll check it out so the software is ready for you in the official release!

    All of my sentinels synced with the app except one. I get the error code stating it is already claimed. What does this mean?

    Hi Sean. The unique ID number of your XY Finder is already claimed in the system. Sometimes it results from a mix-up but it can also come from a system error. I've referred your inquiry to our customer obsession team. They'll be with you ASAP!

    1 finder loaded ok. Second one says finder detected, then already claimed, then nothing.

    Disregard.....removed and reinstalled battery.....corrected problem.

    I'm wondering why my phone keeps losing connection with my sentinals.

    I usually carry 4 and 1 on my dog

    If I restart phone before mining seems to work better (saw the "no room in bluetooth" answer)

    Am I at a disadvantage cause my city doesn't seem to have other sentinals ?

    Hi Jack,

    A few things could be causing your issue. It sounds like your phone could be dropping connections, which can happen with any device, although older Android devices are the most prone. The easiest way to restart Bluetooth is just to turn Bluetooth service off and back on again – Android phones will usually have the option in the top drop-down menu.

    And yes – density always helps when crowdsourcing your finding! The more people around you who use XY Find It, the more likely you are to find your things.

    That said, we'd rather you have a better user experience than that. I've gone ahead and created a ticket for you with our Customer Obsession team, they should be back with you soon so you can explore all the possible causes of the issue you're experiencing.

    I can not connect my sentinels to the xyo network, it says firmware update soon. I am using an android Note 9, also the xy4+ device will not pair to my aswell.

    When l was attaching my findable so, they beeped every 3/5 min. I couldn't stop them. They ran out of battery really fast. Others had dead batteries to begin with. I see in the comments that we should only replace them with those sent only from XYO. Would you Indy send me some? Is it true that batteries go for 5 years? Thanks

    Hi Majestic Reign,

    It sounds like you're using the XYO Network app for Android, which is currently still in beta testing. The ability to convert your XY4+ Finders to XYO Sentinels will be coming soon for your device, but please be aware that once an XY4+ is converted into an XY Sentinel, it can no longer be used as an XY Finder with the XY Find It app.

    Please be sure that you're not attempting to pair your XY4+ with your phone's Bluetooth service directly, but instead using the plus sign button in the XY Find It app to add it to your account.

    XY4+ model XY Finders use a standard CR3032 battery, which are available most places small electronics batteries are sold.
